The Feast of Holy Pentecost — the fulfillment of Christ’s promise and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles.
These moments from the Divine Liturgy and Kneeling Vespers capture not only the beauty of our worship, but the life of the Church itself: gathered together, clothed in prayer, and renewed by the grace of the Spirit. At Vespers we kneel for the first time since Pascha, offering prayers for the Church, for the world, and for the salvation of all.
Pentecost is not simply a remembrance of something long ago — it is the revelation that the Holy Spirit continues to dwell and act within Christ’s Church, calling us into repentance, communion, and new life.
“O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere present and fillest all things… come and abide in us.”
Lastly, but most assuredly not least, a fair well and many years to our beloved @Bede Douglas!
Blessed Feast of Pentecost!
